Our priority at Blues FC is the safety of our players and their families. We have been and will continue to monitor the viral outbreak and its effect on our community.

At this time, all Blues FC teams will continue to train and play as scheduled, with some safety modifications as detailed below.

As a member club of NorCal Premier, we are following their lead on this fluid situation. We have already put in place the safeguards NorCal recommended on March 5 (see details here) and will implement any additional protocols as they are announced.

As you may know, most local school districts have announced they will no longer allow outside organizations to utilize fields or facilities on school property in an effort to limit exposure on school campuses. Please note that this will impact local soccer clubs that rely on school-owned fields for training and games, and may affect some away games for Blues FC teams.

We are fortunate at Blues FC to have our own privately maintained field complex which will allow our practices and home games to remain unaffected, and which gives us control over the access to and safety of the facilities.
In addition, our indoor training at Cal Fit continues to be available. Cal Fit has instituted rigorous cleaning protocols for their entire facility, which includes disinfecting the turf and basketball court surfaces several times a day.

For now, we are working with our coaching staff to implement the safeguards recommended by NorCal, which include eliminating game-day handshakes, high fives and fist bumps; urging ill players and parents to stay home; and encouraging ample use of hand sanitizer and hand washing.

Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.

Blues FC Board President
